Thomas Cox

Veterinary Surgeon

European EBVS and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery
Dr Tom Cox was previously Head of Orthopaedics at the University of Liverpool and is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery who leads the Dogwood Referrals team. He has published research in multiple international journals, continues to educate vets through contribution to the certificate in advanced veterinary practice and demonstration days, and is a reviewer for international veterinary publications.
Tom is happy to accept referrals in all aspects of veterinary orthopaedics and neurosurgery, with a particular interest in cruciate ligament disease, complex fracture repair and joint replacement.
Outside of work Tom enjoys fishing and walking his springer spaniel Ted.

Lucy Feather

Veterinary Surgeon

RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery
Lucy previously worked in first opinion practices across Yorkshire and Manchester before completing her certificate in small animal surgery and then joining the Dogwood team in 2021. She has a particular interest in cruciate ligament disease and intervertebral disc disease. Outside of work Lucy has a busy family life but loves baking and exercising when she can.
Will Petchell

Veterinary Surgeon

Will graduated from the University of Nottingham before beginning his career in small animal practice in South Wales, where he developed a strong foundation in medicine and surgery.
With a keen interest in surgery, he went on to complete rotating and orthopaedic internships at the University of Liverpool Veterinary Hospital, followed by a highly competitive three-year surgical residency. This advanced training has allowed him to develop extensive experience in orthopaedic and neurosurgical procedures.
Will enjoys all aspects of surgery, with particular interests in trauma management, fracture repair, and joint surgery. He has also published in several veterinary journals, including authoring a paper on a novel technique for the treatment of cranial cruciate ligament disease.
Dedicated to providing the highest standard of patient care, Will combines meticulous surgical technique with a practical approach to help achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside of work, Will lives with his ginger cat, Bob, who keeps him firmly in his place. When he’s not at the hospital, he enjoys playing music and occasionally convincing himself that signing up for a triathlon is a good idea.
